The day was bright; not a cloud in sight. The sun was shinning down on Chihiro, who was sitting on the edge of a river. Her feet were swinging along the river side, as she held wide smile. She was only three years old at this time; out for a picnic with her parents who were twenty feet behind her.

Chihiro loved to breathe the fresh river air, and feel the wind blow through her toddler grown hair. Paying no attention to her feet kicking towards the water, one of her shoes started to slip off her feet.

Splash!

Chihiro's little pink shoe had flown off her foot, and dipped into the river water. Slowly absorbing the water, the shade turning pinker, Chihiros' shoe started to sink. Chihiro's gaze grew wide, with a little, "Uh-oh." Escaping her lips, as she watched her shoe slowly submerge into the water. She rolled onto her stomach quick, and extended her arm out.

The rocky edges, and muddy wall unable to bear her angled pushing weight, she slipped.

Into the water, it surrounded her. Her arms and legs cutting the water walls as she tried to swim; but she couldn't. The currant was to hard; to fast for her to defeat.

She thought it would be all over for her so-short life. Her eyes started to close, as her struggles grew weak, and she fell deeper.

Chihiro's eyes grew heavy as her body sunk deeper into the river, until suddenly the water started to work with her. Her eyes almost closed, the water was pulling her up above water. Before her eyes close completely, she caught glimpse of a little boy, holding her pink shoe. He was swimming in circles around her. Chihiro's eyes closed before she reached the surface. The boy carried Chihiro over the edge, walking over to where her parents had once been - they took off in search for their daughter, after realizing she had vanished - and laid her softly on the picnic blanket.

"In the name of the water, and wind within thee, unbind her."

Chihiro coughed, sitting upright with a jolt. Taking in a deep breathe, she cried for her parents. "Momma! Papa."

They came running from the woods, embracing their child. "Chihiro! Chihiro what happened?" They asked, pulling the blanket out from under them to dry her off.

"I fell in." She said. "And then a boy saved me." Chihiro hugged her parents tight, never to leave their side again.

"A boy? Did he touch you?" Her mother asked.

"He carried me."

"Do you know where they went?" Asked her father.

Chihiro shook her head.

"Maybe we should take her to the doctor?" They exchanged glances.

Packing up the picnic, and putting Chihiro in the car, her parents brought her to the doctor to make sure she would be okay.

All Chihiro wanted was to see the little boy again, and thank him for returning her shoe.
