Title: The Inevitable
Summary: Written by Lelouch vi Britannia for Karen Kozuki; his only ace and love
Disclaimer: I do not own Code Geass or any of its character
Change is inevitable
The past, shapes the present
The present, for the future
The future, for others
No on else can make out decisions
We shape them with our own hands
And everything happens for a reason
From the birth of a new life to the death of one
Anyone can alter history
From a mere child to an adult,
From an ambitious man to a man with no dreams
We all have the power, no one can stop us
Seven am, Thursday.

Karen's POV
The door bell rang; I stood up lazily from the sofa and answered the door, it was the mail man.
"Good Morning, Miss."
"Morning"
"Here's your letters."
"Thank you"
"You're welcome. Enjoy your day ma'am."
The mail man left; I closed the door and browed through the mail, they were just bills except for one, written in front with beautiful handwriting Karen Kozuki. I opened the letter and dropped back onto the sofa to read the contents.
Karen,
Most likely by the time you have read this letter I would most probably be already dead. This new era that I have given you and the people is what I call the Zero Requiem. Wherein the world is at peace; a place which Nunally has been yearning for and a place which I want the people, especially Nunally and you, to be able to live in peace and live on as the people who you both year to become.

I dropped the letter beside me, just staring at it suddenly someone spoke up from behind me, I was at shock; how could someone sneak up so close to me without me noticing.
"Karen, you were the only one that stayed with me and believed in me. From the time that I told you that you were just a pawn in my game; to tell you the truth… I was lying, you were more than just a pawn…you were…my Queen."
I recognized the voice, but I didn't want to believe it, I didn't want to look back and be disappointed once more. But something was telling me to look back, that it would not hurt this time; I didn't want to listen but still I turned my head and I just sat there speechless in front of the man.
"Yo"
I stood up and stood in front of him with my head down.
"Is that all you could say?! After all that I've been through! And Nunally's pains?! How could you?!"
I started to cry and kept on banging my fist on his chest.
"How could you?"
He wrapped his arms around me and gave me a hug, comforting me telling me to stop crying.
"I am sorry. It was the only way that would ensure success of the plan."
"Lelouch you idiot…are you saying that the pain we went through was necessary to achieve all this peace."
I never received an answer. He just suddenly held me closer and kissed me passionately. When I opened my eyes, he was no where to be found once more.
"Was I dreaming? Imagining? But all of it left so real"
I lie down on the sofa and fell asleep.
"Sorry, Karen, but fate is truly cruel."
