The lack of Terrorist is a thorn in my eye... enjoy! :)
Reach Out
He was working late again.
It was something that he guessed he needed to get used to, now that he himself was a working adult, but Shinobu was never that mature or reasonable to begin with. His fears that his lover might be out there somewhere, right now, chatting up women and having a good time without him around would always haunt him. Breathing steadily, Shinobu reached out for the panda-bear beside him, on his huge king-sized bed.
The youth had named him Yoh (after his ever so elusive lover) and would cuddle with him at night when the nightmares and fear overwhelmed him. He knew that a mere toy couldn't replace his beloved Yoh but what other choice did he have? Miyagi still refused to be seen with him in public (even though Japan allowed gay people to get married and be 'officially' together for well over a year now), he still refused to come to his apartment from time to time, he still said no to living together... the list could go on, but he didn't really feel like depressing himself anymore.
Still clutching the panda, the young adult stood up and walked over to his window and looked out, staring into the somber streets with no emotion on his face.
How much longer would he have to wait? How much longer would it take Miya - no, Yoh - to muster enough courage to ask his father for his hand? To confess their relationship to the blonde's family? He knew he was wrong... no, he hoped he was wrong... when he thought that Miyagi might not love him anymore. Maybe the old man had a thing for younger lovers and now, with him growing older each year, he wasn't in the interest zone? Snorting, he held onto the bear even harder.
It didn't matter. He fought for their relationship, wept enough tears to create new rivers around the globe and almost shed enough blood to do the same. If Miyagi didn't want their relationship to last, that was fine with him (right? he forced himself to think so) but if he did, he would have to work for it... more... harder...
Because Yoh working for their relationship would be a pleasant change in routine.
- line break -
"Shinobu-chin?" a gravely voice spoke up from the doorway, but he didn't turn around.
"Welcome home, Miyagi." he forced a smile onto his face. "Would you like some cabbage for..." he looked at the clock near the apartment entrance. "... breakfast?"
"We need to... talk..." the older man said instead, moving to hold him in his arms but Shinobu evaded him.
"I'm sorry, you will need to work for me now." he told Miyagi, his face a picture perfect stone, as he sighed. "If you still love me that is." Miyagi nodded slowly as he went to make breakfast instead.
At least it's a start, Shinobu thought as he and teddy followed at a much slower pace. They would fine.
He believed in their relationship.
For some reason, I can't seem to think of them without angst... lovely.
Thanks for reading my little drabble! :)
