This is madness.
He can feel Mitsukake's strength, his power, his very life force draining away from him with each second that passes, and his fingers curl tighter around his friend's arm, and he pushes his face further into the doctor's chest, not willing to believe that this is happening. He cannot lose another one of his friends. Not another one.
Mitsukake does not seem to see him or hear him or even feel him as he wraps his arms around the doctor like a vice, begging and pleading for him to stop, his voice trembling and wavering, ready to break. This is one of the most selfless acts that Chichiri will ever witness, and he knows that it is testament to what an incredible person Mitsukake is, what a paragon of a doctor he is, that he would give up his life for a patient. But damn it, the monk wants him to be selfish. He cannot lose him now. He cannot.
Tears begin to leak out of his eyes, his voice cracks for all his screaming, and Mitsukake is fading, fading, fading.
Chichiri continues to beg, but Mitsukake does not listen. All he can do is hold on.
A/N: (cries)
Feedback appreciated.
Also: there will be crack soon. I mention it because the crack was kinda sorta influenced by this. :)
