Olo. This is just a little something I whipped up on my tumblr account, and I felt that it should come over here and see what you guys think. Enjoy.

When Roy had came home, Jade wasn't in a good mood. She felt sick to her stomach, Lian was sick and screaming, and Roy had been absent for over a day dealing with Speedy.

"How was your day, Roy?" Jade snipped to Roy, who sat down on the couch without answering to her snarky comment. That was Jade's first sign that something was wrong. She narrowed her eyes. "Something's up with you. What happened? Something with Speedy?"

"Jade, I really don't know how to tell you this," Roy began. "And I don't really want to tell you either," he added under his breath, attempting to mask it from Jade's ears but failing.

"What. Happened," she hissed, the curiosity killing her.

"It's… Artemis," he said. "She… unretired tonight, to help Nightwing out with a mission. Kaldur, Black Manta's son, showed up. He… he killed her, Chesh." Curiosity killed the cat.

Jade's hands clawed the counter as she made a fist. "No," she whispered, looking down. She glared up at Roy. "You're lying."

"I wish I was," Roy said, standing up to comfort his wife. Jade pushed him away.

"Artemis isn't gone. She's not that stupid. She can't be…" Jade tried to say, but Roy bested her and pulled her into his arms easily. "She's not…" Jade said, her eyes stinging with tears. Don't cry she thought. You're Jade Nguyen. You're not allowed to cry. Artemis isn't actually dead. There's no way. Don't cry. Don't cry.

"I'm sorry Jade. I'm so, so sorry," Roy said. She pulled out of his arms, tears brimming her eyes, but anger on her face.

"He's dead," Jade said. "I'll kill him. I'll kill them all. They're all. Dead." She turned to go into her room, and began to gather all of her favorite weapons. By the time Roy figured out who she meant, Jade was already gone.

The funeral for Artemis was a few days later. Most of the League, the Team, and a few school friends showed up to mourn the dead archer.

In front, there was a solemn mother in a wheelchair, next to a red-headed teenage boy. Behind them stood a blonde man, and from there, there was a swarm of people. On one side of the coffin stood a group of teenagers, and on the other, the billionaire Bruce Wayne along with a few of his "business associates".

There was no dry eye present at the funeral.

Over time, the number of the crowd began to shrink. Eventually, even the grieving mother was wheeled away, back to her empty apartment.

But one remained. She wasn't a part of the funeral procession, not by any means. She simply watched from the shadows, as was her custom. She approached the grave of her beloved sister.

"Hey… sis," she started. "Look, I'm not good at this sappy stuff, never have been, and you know it. But… I just wanted to say… I'm sorry. I'm sorry for leaving you, back when we were young. I was thirteen, but you were nine. You needed me, but I was scared. I know that isn't an excuse, but I didn't know any better. I'm sorry for not being there for you after then, and now, and when you were… You didn't even get to meet your niece, Lian. She reminds me of you in so many ways. You would've loved her."

Jade wiped her eyes. "I'm sorry for everything." She turned from the grave, and began walking away. I love you.

Little did Jade know there was another shadow lingering, listening to her every word. The shadow wiped at her eyes at the confession. I love you too, sis.

Reviews would be much appreciated.
