It bit me.

Spoilers: Season 6, episode 'Bite Me.'.
Note: Just a little something that popped into my mind during the end of the episode, when Catherine walks by Susan. One-shot.

Catherine's heart broke when she passed the thirteen-year-old in the hallway. The girls eyes were filled with tears and her cheeks were read of crying. Catherine was actually feeling somewhat guilty for ruining the young girls life. Catherine walked to the locker room, where she sat down on the bench and rubbed her temple while her eyes were closed. She hated cases with children. They always touched her, no matter what kind of case it was. "You're okay?" His familiar voice felt like a warm embrace when she felt as horrible as she did at this point. She opened her eyes and saw him leaning against the wall in the doorway, observing her while she sat on the bench. Catherine nodded slightly and said: "It's just.. It was tough. I hate these kind of cases. That girl.. She… She ruined her life." He nodded and closed the door of the locker room, before he sat down next to her and said: "I know." He gently put his hand on her thigh and squeezed it gently when he said: "It's done now. There's nothing more we can do. There's nothing more yóu can do." Catherine nodded and let her head rest on his shoulder. "I know, I know." He gently stroke her hair and kissed her on her soft strawberry blonde hair. "Come on. Let me take you home. I'll make you some breakfast, if you like." Catherine turned her head to face him and gave him a soft smile. "I'd like that a lot. Thank you." Catherine gave him a quick kiss on his lips before she stood up and said: "Lets go. I'm starving." She gave him a smile, but he could see she was still feeling bad about the case. Catherine walked to her locker and opened it when she felt his presence behind her. He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her neck before he said: "It's going to be fine Cath, believe me." She turned around and wrapped her hands around his neck. The kiss she gave him quickly turned into something more than just a kiss when their tongues started to play together. When he broke the kiss, he gave her one last kiss in her neck before he whispered: "I love you, Cath." Catherine looked into his eyes and smiled when she softly said: "I love you too, Gil."

End.
