The Choice
I cross the empty dressing room
And look into the mirror
And in it, I can see a face
Slowly becoming clearer.
-
This face is not my own at all,
And neither is its voice,
Nor is the figure that reaches out
And offers me a choice:
-
Forget all of his silver words
(A thing I can't ignore),
Or take his hand and live with him
In shadow evermore.
-
And still inside, a great debate!
Oh, where should I begin?
My heart is for another, yet
I know the Angel will win
-
For even though you cause me fear,
I still love you, my Angel dear.
