Mabel just got back from Candy's house and was skipping through the Mystery Shake looking for her brother. She ran up the stairs almost falling down the stairs. She finally got to the top of the stairs. She tried to open the door, but to her surprise it was locked. She lightly knocked on the door guessing Dipper was sleeping inside. Instead she heard light crying, but from her guess it was louder than she thought.
She decided she needed to be there for her brother. Using the door frame as a ladder she pushed her arms on the frame and lifted herself to the top. She pulled the dusty key off the top and dropped down as quietly as possible. Although she was sure Dipper heard her because his cries got quieter.
She waited a minute to let Dipper forget about the sound. She slid the key into the door slowly and twisted. She pulled the out and opened the door. Dipper jumped up and wiped his nose with his arms. "Ha hi, Ma Mabel," he said with a sniffle. Mabel frowned and walked over to her brother. The normal hop in her step gone.
"Hey, Dip what's wrong?" Dipper looked at the piece of paper by his bed and tears filled
his eyes. Mabel looked over and picked it up. As she read she felt tears fill her eyes for her brother who must be feeling horrible.
Dear Dipper,
We have unfortunate news. We are not sure how to tell you this. Or write this but, your close friend Roderick has passed away in a car accident. It was a side collision to his side of the car. He flew threw the window and died on impact. We like to think this was better than living with hours of unbearable pain and dying in a hospital. We are sorry not to tell you sooner but, we wanted to get more information before we dropped the bomb. We know you two had a close bond. The only closer was with you siblings. I hope you don't take this too hard. You would be happy too know we are postponing the funeral until you get back. Sorry, to tell you this horrible news in such a short letter.
With consent,
Mr. and Mrs.N
Mabel sighed and sat on Dipper's bed. "Wa why did this have to happen to him. He was so smart, and kind," whined Dipper. Mabel pulled Dipper onto her side and let him cry knowing answering his question would just make him worse. He cried himself to sleep gaining his natural blushed cheeks backed. After many years of practice he could hide it if needed to. Yet, when he went to sleep he gained all of his childish features back. He looked so much younger in his sleep. Mabel adored her brother for a few more minutes before going to her own bed.
She loved her brother sad, happy, excited or geeking out. She just loved her brother forever and always and she would always be there for him.
