For as long as Zatanna has known Dick, she has never seen him cry. Of course she has seen him really upset or frustrated about something (they're superheroes what do you expect), but never anything to push him over the edge and cry about. So it was surprising when she hears a knock on her door at one in the morning.

When she finally climbs out of bed and shuffles to the door she opens it to find Dick standing in front of her, hands shoved in his pockets, hair drenched from the rain, soaked jeans and jacket, and even though the shirt he was wearing was black, she could tell that the New York weather didn't do any justice.

"Dick? Baby what are you doing here?" Zatanna asked with worry in her voice. That's when he looked up at her and she saw that his usual gleaming, dark blue eyes were red and puffy. Without a word she took the former Boy Wonder by the hand and led him into her small apartment, closing the door behind them.

Zatanna turned on a small lamp in the living room as Dick took a seat on her couch. Once the magician whipped up two cups of warm coffee, she retreats back to her boyfriend, setting the mugs on the table in front of them.

She waits in silence for a couple of seconds before she finally speaks up. "Dick, honey, tell me what's wrong." Nothing came out of the man's mouth as he sits, fingers entwined, staring at his coffee cup.

Zatanna was beyond worried now. She had never seen Dick act like this before and it scared the crap out of her. She needed to know what was going on and she needed to know now.

Zatanna cupped the side of her lovers face turning his head to face her. "Look at me. Talk to me. Please?" She desperately begged.

The team leader closed his eyes and took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "Zee… I-," he took another deep breathe "Zee, I- I'm scared."

"Scared of what? What's wrong?"

"I know this sounds stu-stupid, but what if when Wally and Artemis leave, we won't stay in contact anymore? What if- what if I lose two of my best friends? I just can't lose anyone else in my life." Dick said with a shaky voice, tears streaming down his face.

Even though it ached her to see the most enthusiastic man she's ever met look so broken, it made her kind of… happy to see another side of her boyfriend. He was so fragile, and he needed her to come up with the right words right now.

"Dick you know that's not going to happen. Me, you, Wally, and Artemis have gone through so much together, and have been friends for too long for us to lose touch. And don't get me started on you and Wally! You guys are like brothers."

Dick couldn't help but smirk. She was right, it's been four years since he's met Zatanna and Artemis and about seven years since he's met Wally. Their bond was too strong to break so easily. He had nothing to worry about.

Dick smiled at his raven haired girlfriend. "Do you know how truly amazing you are?" he said staring in her bright blue orbs.

"I have some clue." she winked wiping the rest of his tears from his cheeks.

"Thank you Zee. So much."

Zatanna smiled from ear to ear as her boyfriend pulls her into a deep kiss. That night would go down in history as the first time Zatanna Zatara saw Dick Grayson cry. See, there's a first for everything.

A/N: Sorry guys! I just realized that Zatanna already has her own apartment & Artemis and Wally haven't left yet! Ha-ha sorry, just bear with me guys!
