Hey all, this is just a short little ficlet I wrote out of a random whim. Had the first line come to me when I was making a snack, and the rest just followed.
Hope you enjoy, no matter how random or short it is.

He could still remember when they told her that she only had three months left to live. Moving in a dream state, neither of them believed it until about a month and a half later. That was when she started to wane and disappear, unable to eat, unable to move. It had scared him, and it finally clicked that he was losing her. She was going to die, and he was going to live a very long time without her. It made his chest hurt at the time, and he couldn't comprehend the sorrow that would follow.

Half a month later, she was wasting away at an even faster rate. The doctors said that she would be lucky to last two weeks.

Two weeks.

That's all the time he had left with her.

So for those two weeks, they did everything together. They told jokes, they laughed about the old times, and he even coaxed her into eating a few bites of the food he had made her.

Then one night it just happened. She was just holding his hand drifting off to sleep one night, and the next morning she was gone, her soul just disappeared from her body. He mourned for weeks over the loss of his partner, his lover. He just couldn't believe she was gone. He would sleep in her room, holding her pillow tucked close just to try and be close to her.

He couldn't remember much of the funeral. He remembered Black*Star being somber for once, but that wasn't what he had wanted. He had wanted his friend to be his normal boisterous self, but it hadn't happened that way. The main thing he remembered was crying. For once, he stopped trying to be cool, and just let himself cry in public, because he had lost the person closest to him.

After the funeral and the mourning, he visited her grave every day for the rest of his life. He found a comforting relationship with Blair, and they settled into an everyday life style. Yet he never touched her, never had children. The partner he had lost was the only one for that, he had vowed not to touch another woman except her.

It was a night similar to the one that he had lost her that he himself slipped into Death's warm embrace. His soul was welcomed heartily by Lord Death, and it was then that he saw her again. Just as she was in her youthful days; pigtails, fighting outfit, and all. It made his soul sing with joy, and they embraced tightly, their souls resonating like they always did.

She took him by the hand and smiled at him, waving good bye to Lord Death before leading him away. She led him to where they would always be together, and would stay for eternity.

Just the way he wanted it.
