A/N: I just forgot about it. So here goes. I wish it was only fluff, but nah. It's even worse.

Mother's Day

She looks at him, who's kneeling at her feet, with a little embarrassment. He clasps the bouquet of flowers in his hands, as big that his face is completely hidden. She shakes her head. No, it's not necessary at all. She gently touches his wrist and in silence asks him to stand up.

He does, but still seems to avoid her gaze.

"No one is stolen," he says at last, trying to smile and point at the tea roses he extending by his chin. He gulps hardly, until he speaks again. "I just thought… It's Mother's Day and… No, it's stupid. I'm sorry, Your Highness, I shouldn't."

He wants to turn round and walk away, but his feet are kind a rooted to the spot. He can't. Instead of it he feels as slim strong Queen's arms tangle around him. He feels her warm breath in his hair, when she grabs his arms by her shaking hands and kiss him into the cheek. He feels as her body is jolted by sob. He gets pale, has no idea what to do. But he knows one thing. He's offended her.

"Really, please, excuse me, Your Highness, I-I… I know Rapunzel should do this, but I thought… I didn't think. And I-"

She shakes her head again. Her long hair lashes his cheek.

"Rapunzel doesn't even know that Mother's Day exists," she whispers quietly. "And you… t-thank you, Eugene." He cringes at the sound of his own name. He had no idea Queen knows it. But the real shock comes when she adds: "Son."

He wants to bust out. Run away. Scream. Curse. Collapse. But, surprisingly, he sets free his hand from her clutch and clumsily taps her back.

He sighs. She's so similar to her daughter, both, in physical and psychical meaning. But shame that after all he still can't call her mother.

Tears are shining in her emerald eyes when she lifts her head and gives him encouraging smile.

"Don't be so scared, she'll agree. She'll agree at last, you just have to try." Eugene stiffens. Queen can't be talking about that he thinks she is. But she is. "She couldn't strip me of such an amazing son-in-law."
