"Look at this!"

Grell perched on the edge of the Thames River, staring across it at the buildings on the other side. Her gaze was drawn to the large Ferris wheel-like attraction, the structure was almost complete and it was tall and out of place.

"I see it, Sebastian. What is it?" She asked. A gust of strong wind arose and she had to hold her hair out of her face with one arm.

The demon stood unmoved by the strong winds as he bared his fangs at the childish creation of the humans. "It takes away from the clock tower and is made to draw tourists to it. Humans are desperate for money these days, that is one of the reasons I do not live in this world anymore."

Grell turned to look at him, the demon still wore the same outfit after all of these years. He had kept it tidy and clean apart from a few sewed up holes scattering it. "You're honestly still wearing that thing? Was your last master really that important to you? You haven't eaten in years, you'll die of hunger if you keep that up."

Sebastian looked down. He had really cared for the young earl, but all humans have such short lives and he was beginning to regret taking his young master's soul. The butler's outfit he still wore was the only thing he had left since the Undertaker had stolen the boy's body away for "safe keeping". However even the great reaper could not bring Ciel back from the dead since Sebastian had made sure that they could not find a single trace of his soul.

"I'll have to admit, Ciel Phantomhive was quite an interesting child." Grell exclaimed. She flashed a sharp-toothed grin at the demon, who smiled slightly.

"Indeed he was."

They stood in silence for a while, watching the construction. The wind continued to blow causing Sebastian to become lost in thought of the times he had spent with his young master.

"Hey, Grell!" The two looked up. "The boss needs you!" Ronald came running towards them and Grell stood up with a sigh.

"What now?" She asked.

Ronald shrugged. "The usual. Paperwork and stuff."

"Fine then. However, this is not the type of work a lady should be doing! If you were less of a slack off then I'd make you do it." Grell crossed her arms.

"Not in a million years." Ronald told her.

"Oh well, I'll be off now. Farewell Bassy!" Grell waved. She winked at the demon, who rolled his eyes.

Sebastian watched them go, before he turned to look across the river one more time.

He found himself imagining Ciel standing next to him. The ghostly image of the boy sighed and shook his head. "It does not look safe at all. Sebastian, find out who built this!"

"Yes my lord." Sebastian took to one knee and bowed once more before his master. But when he looked up, he was staring up at the top of Big Ben instead of the place where the hallucination of Ciel had stood.

"So it is indeed true." He murmured. "What was lost will never be found, what was broken will never repair, and what is stolen will never return."

He looked around at the crowds that passed him without notice. "Humans are such curious creatures."

Note: The "Ferris wheel" is referring to the popular tourist attraction, the London Eye. It was finished on December 31st of 1999, Sebastian and Grell are seeing it a month before completion. Reapers and demons are still enemies at this point, however in my own headcannon, Grell has made a reputation of being friends with some of them.
