Disclaimer: Do I own X-Men comics or the X-Men television series? No. Do I own Disney's The Little Mermaid. Nope. But wait, there's more! Do I own "Under the Sea." In no way. I wish!

A/N: Originally completed in February 2010 as I brainstormed on "Part of Their World." Centered around the X-Men TV show that aired in the '90s. Gambit's my favorite character, and I love the Gambit/Rogue romance more than anything. The idea is that Gambit is *flirting with* trying to comfort Rogue by saying that, although she doesn't have anyone else to be with, she's got Gambit by her side always. But man, this poem was the hardest thing I've ever had to write! I had to sit for hours thinking of rhyming words and phrases, and I even looked up French words. Review, if you possibly can!

"Rogue, You Got Me"

De swamp grass is always greener

T'rough somebody else's eyes.

If you were just lookin' up, chere,

You might get a big surprise.

Just look at de mutant near you—

Right here, fightin' by your side,

De one who wants to be near you;

So why don't you just decide?

Rogue, you got me.

Rogue, you got me.

Darlin', admit, now,

Don't we just fit, now?

Take it from me.

On de outside, you're locked up tight,

Keeping your feelings out of sight.

I see your eyes shine—

You're gonna be mine—

Rogue, you got me.

You think dat you can't be happy,

As off t'rough de world you go.

I know what can make you happy;

Do I have to tell you so?

'Cause girl, you be rather lucky,

To have Gambit on your team.

Dey say that we're only teammates—

But t'ings ain't be what dey seem.

Rogue, you got me.

Rogue, you got me.

I'll be your man,

Like no one else can,

So why can't you see?

You always act like you don't care.

I'll make you open up and share!

If you can't see it,

I'll make you see it!

Rogue, you got me! (You got me, oui.)

Rogue, you got me. (You got me, oui.)

Life would be sweet, chere,

If we could meet, chere,

Naturally! (Naturally-y-y.)

Even Scott Summers and Jean Grey—

Dey get de urge and start to play!

Show dem your spirit!

Girl, can't you hear it?

Rogue, you got me!

The Rogue is in vogue,

Mon frere, what a chere!

Her smile beguiles,

And see her long hair!

What might! Watch her fight

And fly t'rough the sky!

A belle and a beauty, too.

A treat, and so sweet,

The cream of the team.

One day, she will play

Right into my dream.

If you, mon ami,

Could see what I see,

Den she would thrill you, too!

[Instrumental break]

Ouiii, Rogue, you got me!

Rogue, you got me!

When will you play, chere?

Come make my day, chere!

Let our love be!

What do dey got—a human hand?

You got a spicy Cajun X-Man!

You got a lover,

One like no other:

Rogue, you got me!

I've got a feeling

I'll leave you reeling.

Rogue, you got me!

Chere, don't deny it

Until you try it,

'Cause you won't daunt me—

I know you want me.

Don't make me say more.

Come get your amour.

Rogue, you got me!
