I never had a family. I lived on the streets of any town I wished. I was always kicked or tossed around by someone. Probably cause I tripped a lot over my ears and big feet. Whooo! Sorry had to let out that howl. Anyway I thought I ain't special until one cold night, I became special.

I was waddling through the dust and then I saw this HUGE line of people. I thought "Yay food!" WRONG! I got kicked by a mule and thrown by a man who also kicked me.

I lifted up my head and started to cry, then I saw a man coming toward me. I quickly got into a fetile postion and he said "Aww, sweet basset, don not cry."

He gave me some bread and rubbed my head and said "I think your feet are so big and cute and your ears make you look so funny, but still cute."

I watched him go into "Beethlehame" I can't read at all so I waddled on inside and watched the sun go down.

I went into a stable area and saw a baby being born "AWOOOO!!!" I screamed, but I immediatly shut up when the animals began to bow down.

"Ok." I thought as I did the same then I heard "Mary these rags are not keeping him warm." "I can help!" I yelled. I forgot they don't understand basset.

I waddled, tripping over my feet and ears, which made them giggle and me too, and counted 1, 2, 3!!" I flew into the manger and curled up next to the baby.

He took hold of my ear and fell asleep against my fur. Before I fell asleep I heard "Thank you little basset, thank you."

This was written in church on Christmas eve and I used my basset hound Bailey as my main Character, his debuuuut is how he'd say it. I hope you remember, that God and Jesus both love you very much and they will never leave you. You're always special in their eyes.
