Summary: I never wanted to leave her, but I would do anything for her, even if the cost is my life.
Disclaimer: I don't own Monster Allergy
I realized that I never wrote how Zick died in my story Lost Time, I accidentally cut it out. Sorry I haven't been writing, I just got a new laptop for Christmas and it took me forever to find something I could write and upload stories from. So anyways, this is the prequel to Lost Time.

"Wow... It's beautiful," she said under he breath. I smiled and hugged her closer. We were on the top of a hill, watching the sun set over the sea, creating many reds, oranges, purples and yellows.
"Yeah, but you even more beautiful." She smiled as well and laid her head on my chest.
"I wish we could stay here forever, then it would be ours." She sighed as the last few minutes of the sunset finished as the sun disappeared from view, leaving a full moon to take its place along with the many stars that dotted the sky.
"Well, we can't make it ours, but we can do this." I stood and took out a pocketknife. Swinging out the blade, I stepped over to the tree we had been sitting under and started carving. When I finished, I stepped back to admire my handwork.
I had carved Z+E enclosed in a heart. She smile and leaned on me. I wrapped my arm around her waist and smiled again as well. I glanced at my watch, luckily I had gotten one the had a small light in it.
"C'mon, we better go. It's getting late and I don't want to leave the car down there for too much longer." She only nodded and helped me pick up the things we had brought to our little picnic.
As I stood, I was sure I saw something glint in the moonlit out where the trees grew thicker, somewhat like a little forest. I stared out there for a moment, watching for movement. There it was again! Something shone again, but longer this time. It was faint, but something was there.
It took me a second to realize what it was, but when it shone brighter and for a third time, I had no time to think.
"Elena," I yelled at the top of my lungs. I ran in front of her without a second to spare.
I saw a bright flash of purple and searing pain shot through my veins. I cried out in pain, but there was nothing anyone could do. When it all stopped, I saw a dark tamer run back into the shelter of the trees.
The next thing I knew, she was holding me, tears in her eyes. I smiled softly and weakly raised a hand, gently wiping away a stray tear from he face.
"Zick, I..." She could say anything more, she was lost for words. Her eyes held a million emotions, fear, concern, and concern to name a few.
"Elena, I always have and always will love you." She could only smile back at me.
She suddenly remembered her cellphone and took it out. The last thing I saw was her punching three numbers. My vision slowly faded to black and the pain ebbed away until I was at peace.
