Disclaimer: Don't own Smallville

Author's note: Poem I started writing a really long time. If my memory serves me right, it was inspired by Smallville, but I'm not sure. I was just looking through old files and found this, and decided that it could be angsty Chlark poem that semi-works. It's really bad, I'm sure. I'm horrible at poetry, but for some reason I always feel like giving it a go. Anyway, you'll notice a couple lines that are similar to Chloe's little letter to Clark in the episode "Fever." Thanks for taking time to read it.

You have no clue

How long I've wished

That you'd see me

In a new light

And want me

The way you want her

We're just friends

That's all we'll ever be

You love her

You don't love me

I wish you'd see

That I love you

But I know

She just blocks your view

Can't you see I'm living a lie?
I'm your soulmate

Masquerading as your friend

You have no idea

How much I just want to scream

Declare my love

Shout that I love you, you idiot

But I can't

For I fear rejection

I can't lose your friendship

It means too much

So for now

I'll just be your friend

And watch you

Watch her

Pretending not to watch you back
