Title: Is The End Near?

----------------

Prologue:

Headlines:

Thousands killed in the World Trade Center

About 200 more were injured, 35 critically, in WEST WARWICK, R.I.

21 people died in a Chicago nightclub

Impending war with Iraq

 . . .

----------------

Poem:

I don't understand

Everywhere I look,

Everywhere I turn,

In every blink of an eye-

Tragedy, crime, death, heartbreak . . .

Never ending,

always there . . .

But more so now, it seems that the end is near.

Am I hyping myself up for some disillusion?

That in reality there is no God, no Christ?

That it's okay to live my days in indifference?

That the end is not really near and that this life is the only life out there?

Then why is Revelations in the Bible becoming more apparent today?

He spoke of the end of times,

Does it not look like the earth is going to the pits of hell today?

What can we do? Is there no way to shunt God's fury?

How we evoke him as a nation,

for the crimes and injustices done by men.

Will He listen to our anguish, and not let his judgments come upon us?

Revelations reveal that the end is near-

Is it really?

God have mercy.

A/N: I know the poem is disjointed but I just needed to express myself.  I really don't know what this world is coming to, so much is happening all around the world.  Sometimes, you question if it's really going to reach the end soon . . .
