Finally! A breakthrough from my writer's block! I've seen all of Trigun now (twice) and I've grown to love it even more (didn't think that was possible, but oh well; I'm not complaining . . . .) Oh yes, that's right, you clicked on this to read a poem, not listen to me ramble . . . sorry about that, folks! Anyways, here goes!

Disclaimer: I don't own Trigun, 'cause if I did there would be an infinite number of episodes . . . .

Author's Note: By the way, ignore the periods between stanzas-it was the only way I could get the spacing to work right. And in case you couldn't tell, the "we" is refering to Millie and Meryl.

Searching for Vash

We set out to find the Stampede,

a terrible, daunting task.

When we left, they wondered

just how long we would last.

.

We set out to find a gunman,

a master of attack;

with a strange, silver gun,

his skills went unmatched.

.

On the way, we met an idiot,

a donut-loving broomhead

with amazing luck, and so we ended

up following him instead.

.

We set out to find a killer,

a cold-blooded murderer,

not caring whose life he took

as he wandered here and there.

.

Then we found a man

living life a different way.

"Love and peace!" he'd shout

to the villains he chased away.

.

We set out to find a monster,

a horrible, heartless beast.

Whole cities fell before him

as he tried to stamp out peace.

.

Instead we found a hero,

protector of all humans,

asking for nothing in return

as he risked his life for them.

.

We set out to find a demon,

one with Diablo's Eyes,

who carved a hole in the moon,

destroyed Augusta and July.

.

But then we found a soul,

broken in pain and sorrow,

grieving for those it could not save

whether it be friend or foe.

.

We set out to find a devil,

dressed in a coat of red,

feared by most, hated by all–

We found an angel instead.
