Harry Potter Sorting Hat Song
In times when dragons roamed the land
When Hogwarts first was born
Each of the four founders
Made an oath that there was sworn.
Gryffindor would teach the bold
Hufflepuff the kind
Ravenclaw sought intelligence
Slytherin ambition would find.
Yet as they focused on these four
The rest were left forgotten
And founders too soon grew apart
The school at times b'came rotten.
And over history again
These same mistakes where made
And every time the times turned dark
Without any aid.
So harken now to what I say
Do not close your ears
For what I say is good and true
For you and for your peers.
Dear Ravenclaws you should work hard
Study, do your part
Yet do not let intelligence
Begin to cloud your heart.
Sweet Hufflepuffs remember
it's good to be kind and true
But not everyone will listen
Make sure they care for you.
Slytherins, be clever
Ambition's a good ability
But remember: with great power
Comes great responsibility.
Gryffindor's, show bravery
Fight for what is right
But remember that it's possible
To make peace without a fight.
So now as I sort you
And you begin to make new friends
Remember those in history
Who died to make amends.
For perhaps the banner's colors
Show the house where you reside
But remember in your fights and hates
You're all the same inside.
