Pain.
That was what the world was – a pain.
He had been dumb. Naïve, even – because really, what were the differences between them? And he was tired, tired of it all.
True, the Akatsuki and rogue-nins lusted after blood – except a certain few – but they were just following orders, doing their best to survive in this unfair world, and so was he. Just like every other shinobi, and he had, from a young age, learnt that nothing was fair in this world.
At the ripe age of seventeen, he could sadly say that he had already experienced war. After the tussle between the Five Shinobi Nations and Obito and Madara, this was the realisation he had come to. Their victory, a miracle, a success. But how could he truly be happy when it was.. So hollow?
Once the war was over, he had been promoted to Jounin, having been promoted to Chunin in the midst of war. And then, he was aiming for the Hokage position with a new vigor. If this would allow him a greater, higher, chance to protect the ones he loved, so be it. They didn't deserve to feel even more pain brought on by the universe than they already had – even if it was inevitable. In fact, nobody did.
But that was what he was here for, no? To do his best to protect everything he stood for – His friends, deceased family, Konoha.
And he would not fail – he wasn't allowed to. He would be successful, because he was Uzumaki Naruto, and he never gave up.
That was his ninja way.
Woah. This has been on my mind for quite a long time. I'm aware that there are similar stories like mine, out there, but I haven't actually read them. If you would promote some of ém to me, it'd be greatly appreciated! :D
I didn't actually put the disclaimer up there since. I mean. Everyone knows they shouldn't and can't claim Naruto.. Been seeing the same disclaimers all over, haha! xDDD
So yeah. If you've read it to the end, thanks a bunch! Remember to review? Constructive criticism is always lovely! ;3
