What if Callie followed Erica after their kiss? This is femslash. Don't like it? Don't read it.
Defining Elevator-Moment.
"Damn it! On-call room, right now!"
Callie stepped out of the elevator and everything seemed to be moving in slow motion. In her stomach somewhere, she could've sworn that she felt something. Like someone put a warm, heavy stone in there for a couple of seconds and the heat quickly spread to her face. Her mind was torn. A part of her felt happier than she ever felt before, but the other one felt so confused. As her feet met the floor outside of the elevator, her feet was ready to follow Mark, but her head turned in the Erica's direction. She saw her in the ending of the hallway and in a split of a second Callie made a decision that might change her forever. Leaving Mark behind, she walked quickly towards the blond who was now on her way out the door.
"Erica!" She yelled across the hallway. Shit, she thought realizing that her voice sounded groggy and she sort of sounded like a man.
But Erica looked over her shoulder and stopped as she saw Callie. As she got closer and closer, she started regretting going after her. The warm stone started heating up in her stomach, but also in her face.
"What's up, Callie? Did someone die of something?" Erica asked and gave her a curious look.
"No," she laughed an uncomfortable little laugh, "You going to Joe's?" She felt her face getting warmer and tried to smile, but she probably just looked constipated, cause that's how she felt.
"I didn't plan to. It's been quite a day and I'm kind of tired.." She said, pulling her blond hair away from her face. Callie immediately thought about what Mark said just a few hours ago. Reaching across the OR-table, pulling down her mask and ripping of her scrubcap so that you can grab a handful of that blond hair.
"Well, if you want to, you can come over to my place. We can pop up a bottle of wine of something. It will be relaxing, I promise you that." She smiled, praying to God that Erica would accept the offer.
"Actually, I don't feel like it today. I'm really exhausted." Her heart dropped. She probably just kissed her to mess with Mark's head after all..
"Yeah, sure, that's totally cool. I mean, if was just an offer."
But as they walked towards their cars, Callie decided that she wasn't going to wonder, she needed to know. She had wondered whether George was cheating on her, and that had basically killed her on the inside. She needed to know this time. If she ruined her friendship? What the hell, they were never that close.
"Wait a minute." Callie stopped. "There's something I actually need to do."
"Oh, well that's okaa.." Erica started, but she was interrupted by Callie who suddenly pulled her closer.
"I'm sorry if this is the wrong thing to do," she whispered, and gave her a soft, gentle kiss. Then she stepped a few inches back and asked: "You okay?"
At first she looked speechless, but then she smiled, bent over and whispered in her ear: "It's fine," and Callie felt a soft hand taking hers.
"So, does the offer still stand?" Erica asked.
