Musa sat on a riverbank practicing her clarinet. When she was upset, the only thing that could really calm her down was music. The song was one full of vibrato and feeling. It was her way of letting out exactly how she felt.

The instrument seemed to pull sweet and sad sounds out of nowhere.

She was lonely. The other girls had left her to watch the Red Fountain boys train. She wasn't interested in watching the boys especially if it meant seeing Riven.

Their relationship seemed to be going downhill fast. They didn't spend much time together and when they were together, they were fighting with each other over some pointless disagreement.

She just wasn't in the mood to deal with that today. She only wanted her clarinet and the music to surround her. The music was a companion that would never let her down.

Riven was upset. He had been slightly excited at first when he saw the Alfea girls enter the stands to watch the training, but that feeling quickly left him as he noticed that one of the girls was missing, his girl.

"Listen," he told the other guys, "I think I'm gonna skip today."

"What's wrong, man?" Brandon teased, "Are you afraid we'll make you look bad in front of the girls."

"No," Riven growled back, "I want to see what happened to Musa."

The boys nodded understandingly and Brandon apologized, "Sorry, Riven, I totally get it."

Musa switched to a song with a slightly happier tone. The music was causing her sadness to dissipate.

The song was played in a minor key and made her think of Riven. The tone was slightly dark, but its fast pace and quirky accidentals made it enjoyable. It was something she'd written just after meeting him. It still fit him.

Riven stood behind a tree, listening. He had entered just as Musa finished playing her sad song. When she switched to the new song, he was able to recognize himself in it. And he was able to understand why she didn't want to see him today.

He was fully aware of the downward fall of their relationship. It made him upset and it caused him to get angry easily. It made him ready to work harder for her.

Musa deserved better than him, but she still chose him. Riven vowed to make himself worthy.

As the song came to an end, he stepped out from behind the tree.

Musa looked up quickly in shock, "Riven," she exclaimed.

"Hey, Musa," he reached his hand awkwardly behind his back as he searched for the right words to say to the girl, "I came to see why you didn't come to watch training today."

"I didn't want to." She responded simply.

"I also came to apologize."

"Why?" Her face became confused as she set the clarinet down and stood up.

"Because, I haven't been the best boyfriend lately." He paused, "and that's probably why you didn't come to training today."

"Yeah," Musa looked away shyly.

"And now I also want to tell you that your music is beautiful. I really like that last song you played."

"It's about you." She said quietly.

"I can tell." He said. Then he wrapped his arms around her and she buried his face in his chest. "Musa," he began, "I may not always love you perfectly, but I will always love you."

She looked up at him then, a small smile on her lips. "Me too," she said before reaching up to kiss him.

Their relationship was rocky and confusing and sometimes she wished that she could just stop loving him. But at moments like this, she would give the world to spend the rest of eternity with him by her side.
