A young woman ran down a dark alley and leaned against the brick wall as she caught her breath. She ran a shaky hand through her long brown hair and her dark blue eyes frantically searched for her pursuer. Once she was certain she was safe she walked back out onto the street and continued to make her way home. Her house would be safe.

The young woman opened her front door before she let out a blood curdling scream. It was here. The darkness was in her home. Her world went black.

Xikra gasped for air and coughed as she sat up. She tried to move but she felt a stinging pain in her hands and wrists when she tried to move them. She looked down to see IV's in both hands and wrists. Her dark blue eyes scanned the room. The walls were white, there was no window, and there were heart monitors and IV poles. She was in a hospital room.

Xikra stayed calm and thought. What was the last thing she remembered?

She was wandering around a wasteland when she was attacked by fiends. She wasn't sure what kind. She wasn't paying attention. She was tired and dehydrated after days of endless walking. She fought them off as best as she could before a man came and saved her. She couldn't remember much about him but she did remember a few things. He was tall, had black hair, strong, and a little on the obnoxious side. He must have brought her to the hospital.

Xikra decided she felt better and decided it was time to go. She carefully took out her IV's and disconnected herself from the monitors before sneaking out of the room and down the hall.

"Hey! Hey you! Stop!"

Xikra turned to see two men in blue uniforms and funny helmets running towards her. Xikra turned around and ran the other way. She would prefer to get away without fighting but with the teams of uniformed men running towards her it seemed that wasn't going to be an option. The men in front of her stopped and started firing. She easily dodged the bullets and slid underneath one of the infantrymen, grabbing his gun, and hit one of the men with the butt of the gun. Taking these men down was depressingly easy. Xikra almost felt guilty.

Xikra flipped forwards just in time to dodge what could have been a painful attack from somebody that was actually trained. Xikra turned around to see her new attacker. He was tall, black hair, bright blue eyes, and strong.

"We don't want to hurt you. We want to help you."

"That line might have worked before I got shot at," Xikra snapped. She threw a Fira at the man and used that as a distraction so she could land a solid kick to his stomach. She didn't expect the man to throw a Blizzaga back at her. She barely dodged in time. She didn't have any weapons and she still hadn't regained most of her magic. She didn't have many options. She dodged the man's attacks until she got in close and tried to tackle the man to the ground. She managed to get his sword away from him and knocked him over but she couldn't keep up with his strength. He easily flipped the positions and held Xikra in place.

Xikra struggled but she couldn't get free of his grasp. She was going to have to wait until she had all of her strength back.

"Look I didn't save you and carry you back here just to end up killing you."

Xikra looked up at the man's blue eyes. She should have recognized him when she heard his voice.

"Just calm down and trust me ok?" The man smiled.

Xikra sighed and realized she didn't have much of a choice. She was in a world she didn't know surrounded by people willing and able to fight her. She had to play nice for now.

"Fine."

"I'm Zack." Zack got up and helped Xikra up. He didn't say anything. Xikra figured it was because he wanted to know her name.

"Xikra."
