Ryder's POV
"Please!"
"No."
"Please Ryder!"
"Marley, I love, but I don't want to see a chick flick." I replied. We were currently deciding on what movie we should see on Saturday night and Marley wanted to see the new release Paper Towns. It was based on the book by John Green; same author of The Fault in Our Stars.
"It's not a chick flick." Marley said.
"Then what is it?" I asked, but I knew it was a chick flick—one of those romance movies that all the girls love to death. I loved Marley, and I would do anything for her. I wouldn't mind the movie, but I have already sat through the Princess Diaries saga and I wasn't in the mood for another chick flick movie.
"It's a mystery." Marley replied.
"Right." I said in disbelief.
"I'm serious Ryder." She said and pulled up the movie on her phone, which proved that it was under the Mystery genre. The internet isn't always right, though. And even if it was—didn't mean I would like it. "Please can we go!? The book was so good and I really want to see it."
I sighed. She always won in the end.
I picked her up around five and we went out to dinner first at this dinner. We had some burgers and even shared a milkshake. It was great. We talked a lot, like we usually did.
Then after dinner, we went over to the theatre and we got something a little different, mostly because we didn't want to get just popcorn. We ended up getting that, along with a drink to share, and a pretzel; though I wish we would have gotten the nachos instead because the pretzel was heavily salted. Very over salted.
But oh well, we put the extra salt into the popcorn, which needed it needed something more to it. Probably because we forgot to put butter on it. Oh well.
He got in there just in time for the last preview and then watched the movie. About a quarter way into it, I looked over to her and then slowly reached for her hand and took it in mine. I looked at her and she seemed fine with it. That was good.
Over all the movie was good, I was actually surprised. I guess Marley was right, it was going to be good. I was wrong. Though, it was strange being the only guy in the theatre. But maybe I am the only guy nice enough to take their girlfriend to that movie.
After the movie, we had some time—and money—so we decided to go into the arcade. We played some Pac-man, it was amazing that they had one of those machines. Then Marley wanted to play the claw game, I gave her a dollar and she ended up winning something. She tried for a bear, but didn't get it, but on her second try ended up winning a dinosaur. I have never seen anyone win from those machines.
Tonight was great. I drove her home and then we were saying goodbye and then I gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Am I allowed to do that?" I asked, she seemed caught off guard. I hope she was okay with it.
"Yes." Marley said and then I did it again on the other cheek.
"Bye." I said and she repeated it back. It was a good night.
A nice fluffy one shot for you all! :) Sort of based off my date from last night.
Don't forget to review.
