Today Was the Day

Bucky decided that he had to tell Beatrice he loved her.

There would be no more hoping she would confess her love towards him.

He was going to be a man and tell her already.

Math class passed slowly.

As soon as the bell rang signaling the end of class, Bucky ran to the library.

He took a seat in the back of the library and waited for Beatrice to appear.

She did.

Beatrice looked beautiful, even while wearing yellow earmuffs and covered in snow.

She sat a few tables away from Bucky and began to study for the upcoming Chemistry test.

It was now or never.

Bucky stood up and walked towards Beatrice.

He was less than a foot away from her.

He would never reach her.

Jimmy Hopkins sat down in the seat next to Beatrice.

He kissed her on the cheek and pulled out his own Chemistry book.

Bucky ran out of the library.

He ran to the Boys' Dorm.

It was freezing outside and it had started snowing again, but Bucky didn't care.

He ran to his room and slammed the door behind him.

Today was the day that Beatrice Trudeau was supposed to tell Bucky she loved him.

But she was too infatuated with Jimmy Hopkins.
