Divergent by Veronica Roth FanFiction

Tris:

I was free-falling down the Hub. I felt so... free. The wind was ripping in my hair; face peeling at the ends. The force was like none other. I loved it!

Too bad Four didn't agree. "Ah!" He yelled, "Why are we doing this?"

I rolled my eyes as best I could. The wind was freezing my face back. "You have to get over fear to be brave! I got over mine so you get over yours!" I yelled back, slowly.

I spun around in a circle. "Just relax, Four. You'll make it!"

To my amazement, he did listen. His body visibly became relaxed. He turned his head in my direction with a weary smile. I extended my arms and legs out in a star formation. Four did the same. Despite how annoying he could be at times, I felt happy I was able to do this with him. I kept sneaking looks at Four, wanting him to notice me, see me, or—if I'm lucky—smile at me.

After twenty minutes of no talking, no interaction, we landed into a net that had semi-soft padding under it. Four was turned over my the force of the net, landing beside me. We laid there for a few minutes, catching our hitched breathes.

After I was clam and my breathing back to normal, I climbed out of the net. I held out my hand for Four to take it. He did. It wasn't easy for him to get out of the net, so I had to untangle him.

"What," he asked once he was free, "was that for? I'm supposed to train you, not your train me."

I smiled a reassuring smile. "Well, that's it. You help me become Dauntless every day, so I wanted to help you through your four fears. You got over fear of heights; and we've worked on that all week, so tomorrow, we conquer another one of your fears."

Four rolled his eyes. "One problem with your theory there, Tris: you only know one of my fears. Not all four." He turned to leave. "And I'm not ready to tell anyone the others."

Once he entered the Dauntless building, I smiled.

Well then, Four. Let the games begin. I smirked at the thoughts of what I planned to do. With Will and Christina's help, of course.
