The Annonomous Get Well Card
Candace was laying in bed coughing up a storm. She had the flu. Candace sat up with red puffy eyes and a stuffy nose. Candace had another coughing fit before calling for her Sister, Luna. "Luna!" She shouted weakily. Luna came running in with a glass of water. She handed it to Candace and she chugged away. Once she had handed the glass back to Luna, She layed back onto the bed again. "H-how long do you t-think it'll t-take me to get b-better?"
Candace asked shivering.
"You might feel better within 24 hours." Luna guessed.
"I-I can't stand feeling t-this way L-Luna." Candace complained.
"I gotta go get the mail. I'll be back in a few minutes." Luna announced. As Luna took off like a rocket, Candace closed her eyes to think about how nice it was outside today. She wished she could go outside to enjoy the lovely weather. But she knew she couldn't. She opened her eyes to see Luna coming back into the room.
"Hey, Candace, you seem to have a get well card from someone. Why don't you read it?" Luna asked. Luna handed the card to Candace. She opened the envelope and a nice looking card came out of it. It was red, with glitter on it that said, "Get Well" on the front. Candace opened it up. "Dear Candace, I know that you're sick with the flu and I hope that you get well. I wish you were well enough to enjoy the nice weather with me. I hope you'll accept this medicine from me. Hehe. Feel better soon!" It read. Candace shut the card. She noticed how there was no name signed on it and the medicine obviously wasn't in the card. Luna had bottle in her hands. It was the medicine. She handed it over to Candace. She smiled.
"Can y-you get me a s-spoon to take this f-fever medicine?" Candace asked.
"Be right back." Luna replied. A second later, Luna handed the spoon to Candace. She opened up the bottle and poured a spoon full of the medicine onto the spoon. She took it into her mouth. Candace squinted at how unsatisfying it tasted. "It's bitter." She whispered.
"I'll take those back to the kitchen. See you later." Luna said walking away. Candace layed back down and shut her eyes once more. She thought about who the annonomous card sender could be. She knew it was most likely a guy, but not exactly sure who it was. There were very few "sweet" guys in Waffle Town. She knew it couldn't possibly be Owen, nor Luke or Gill. Not Chase either.
She never finished thinking about who her secret card sender was. Candace quickly drifted to sleep.
