This is my version of the movie that is in Kodocha. I'm not quite sure whether they have published the original version in America or not, since I have only read it in Japanese TT. Anyway this is the first chap, enjoy!

Mako smiled. The boy was a mess; his hair went past his shoulders, he was very thin and the suicidal cuts going up and down his arms and legs made it even worse. He looked familiar. Is it Masato? No, he is too young. 'Should I let him in…?' The evil smile became wider as she silently slid down the tree and glided through the bushes toward him. "Welcome…"

I am Suzuhara Hiroto, fourteen years old. About a month ago, my life changed again.

"Morning Hiroto!" In front of the boy with hair to his shoulders and fake big glasses was a girl around the same age as him, with black hair and a very cute smile.

"D-d-don't talk to me any more… bye!" he said, running off.

"Hey, but you said we could at least be friends!" He pretended not to hear her and ran off.

"I c-can't. The crazy guy called Okamura likes her. If he found out that she proposed to me, he will kill me!" He ran all the way to the front door of the school where it all started to go wrong again. There in front of him stood Okamura. When he looked at him and sniggered, Hiroto remembered about when he was in primary school.

A boy in his class had come up to Hiroto and told him that he was up himself. When Hiroto asked for a reason, he said it was because girls in their class had made a fan club for him without Hiroto knowing, and he was noticeably good at most things compared to the other boys. Hiroto replied;

"If you don't like me, stop being with me, because I don't like childish people like you either." That was when it all started to mess up. The bullying started at first - just his things going missing, but then it started getting more physical. They, about twelve of them, would call Hiroto out after school to 'play' then they would take him to a deserted part of a park and beat him up. They were tricky though; they would stop at the moment where he was just seconds away from getting his head smashed in or breaking his nose. Then they would all drag him to his feet and shove him back home to do all their homework.

In their last year in primary Hiroto finally had to face that it was never going to stop. He needed a way to calm himself down at times, to feel safe, feel alive. That's when he started cutting himself. It wasn't the easiest or the most entertaining at all but he needed it. After the first time, he couldn't stop. Each day he would go home, count the numbers of new bruises he had and cut himself. Even though he hated it, he did it just to keep on going.

When he graduated primary school, none of the bullying gang went to the same middle school as him. But he kept on cutting and told himself never to be the top; to always be a bit behind and to never be the star.

Now, in period two, Hiroto was at a test trying his best not to become the top in class. He remembered what his parents told him before they went on their hot spring trip. Little did he know what was about to come in a matter of hours…

Did you like it? This is only about five pages of Obana's version made into mine!
