Someone To Fall On
Max stumbled out of his room. Unfortunately, the sunlight coming through the windows was making it impossible to stay asleep. He had tried to find something to cover the windows with, but had come up lacking. The only thing in the room that was big enough to cover the whole window was his sheet, and he couldn't very well sleep without those. It was a dilemma indeed. Seeing as he would rather just get up than solve the problem, he decided to leave his room and see what everyone else was up to. Max stumbled in the living room, shuffling his feet and taking no notice of anything around him. He rarely did. It was one of the things that people seemed to find so endearing about him.
However, it made occurrences like that morning happen quite often. He managed to trip over Jude's legs where the other man had been laying in the living room floor. This resulted in all of the air being forced out of his lungs as he landed in a tangled heap on top of Jude. He thought that Jude would have stopped laying on the floor, since this was hardly the first time this had happened.
Honestly, he just didn't understand some people. They know you're not going to see them, and they just keep laying there. Of course, he didn't particularly mind laying on top of Jude. It was a rather comfortable place to be. But that, he decided, was another dilemma he did not plan to find the solution to.
The train of thought led to Max noticing that Jude had apparently forgotten to put a shirt on that morning. Now that was a new development. Usually he could feel the hardness of Jude's chest through material, but never the actual texture of the skin.
A small groan came from the body he was laying on. Apparently, Jude was getting tired of having someone on top of him. Well, that was just too bad for him. Max was comfortable and not really in the mood to do any more moving.
Throwing his arms across Jude's chest, he proceeded to settle in a little more comfortably. Move the legs like so, tuck the chin in like that, and there, the perfect position.
"Don't even try to make me move." Max muttered, tightening his grip on Jude and closing his eyes.
"Wouldn't dream of it, mate." Jude said as he looked down at Max, wondering if the other boy was ever going to get suspicious of the fact that he was always in the perfect place for him to fall on.
I got this idea after reading the first chapter of nleslie's And Your Bird Can Sing. I apologize for taking the setting and using it as my own, but my plot bunny wouldn't leave me alone. I hope you enjoy my tiny little piece of fluff. Click the little blue button and let me know, would ya? Pwetty pwease?
I do not own Across The Universe. I don't own Max and Jude, however much I'd like to. If I did, we'd be having LOTS of fun together right now and I wouldn't be writing this. evil grin No money is being made.
