Left foot up, right foot down, vice versa. Push down and rotate, then repeat the entire process from the top.
What is so hard in this? Learning how to bike is as easy as eating tomatoes for the Maki Nishikino, okay. This isn't something she needs to ask help for.
"Okay Maki-chan, hold on tight on the handles and start slowly, nya!"
Except that she did need help. A lot of it. And Rin, the last person Maki wanted to witness her lameness right now, just had to be the one to see her struggling for balance at the park today.
So much for luck. How can she impress the sporty girl now with her 'biking skills'?
Maki puts her right foot on the bicycle's pedal, her left foot still sticking flat on the ground. Slowly, she started to push herself forward using her left foot, lifting it up to the pedal carefully in the process so she can grasp the feel of her balance.
"That's good, nya! Keep going like that, Maki-chan!"
The bike begins to pick up speed, but the handlebar suddenly wobbles and Maki can feel her weight leaning over to her right side. No! Falling from the bike in front of Rin is definitely not acceptable!
She doesn't fall.
Apparently, Rin ran up to her side just in time and caught her fall, small but strong hands gripping the end of the bike's seat and the right handle at the front. Their hands are totally touching right now but Maki doesn't realize it.
Not when her right shoulder is leaning heavily on Rin's chest. Not when Rin's face is too close to hers that she can actually hear and feel the other girl's breathing. And most especially not when her heart is beating too hard from the closeness they have right now.
"Are you alright, nya?"
Okay, maybe it isn't so bad that Rin saw her today. At least Maki is now sure that her crush will catch her if ever she falls.
That's a good sign, right?
A/N: Inspired by that one chibi illustration in Maki's SID where she's riding a bike. The look of horror on her face is gold.
