Since He Left
Tears fall into the night, fading away like whispers in silence
I can't begin to know what you are feeling, or where you are
You have disappeared from my life, gone on a journey alone
No sleep comes until many tears are shed, sobs comforting me
I wonder why you left, so suddenly with no word or notice
I awoke one day to find you gone, the side of your bed cold
Your closet now stands empty, your belongings gone away
It feels so cold and dank, like an empty crypt with bare walls
Can I live without you, in a population who knows me so well
I hear whispers when I walk the street, see the solemn looks
My mind won't let me forget you, or our time as lovers
A now lonely know-it-all, and the boy who lived again
