A/N: Hello!

Thanks for stopping by, and welcome!

Lily/Severus was actually the very first pairing that I supported. I loved, loved, loved both of them and I thought that their friendship and devotion was one of the most valuable themes of the whole series. So, in memories of both and me reading fan fiction at the age of 11, I present you, When We're Finally Together.

When he opened his eyes, he could only see bright, white light. He brought his hand up to block it, and sat up. He was in the old Shrieking Shack, he noticed, but with difficulty. The dark, gloomy place where a werewolf once had roamed was now a white, almost…glowing, house.

His hand flew to his neck, where the vicious snake had bitten him, but he found himself unharmed, despite the pain he had felt. He noticed that he was still wearing his black robes.

He stood up, wobbling, and steadied himself.

Was he dead? Of course he was, the place had never been so...light.

Where was he supposed to go now? And how?

Before he could think of a way to get out of the abandoned house, he felt a warm glow behind him. He whirled around, and saw a figure walking towards him.

A figure, whose stature was almost 5 inches below him.

A figure, whose short strides were frantically walking towards him.

A figure, whose bright green eyes and fiery red hair caused his soulless heart to jump in recognition and delight.

Lily Potter.

When she was three feet away from him, she smiled, and let out a happy sigh. Severus took a moment to admire her. Her long red hair, reaching halfway down her back, was pulled into a French braid and was decorated with flowers. She was wearing a rich, green, flowing dress with sleeves that reached her elbows. She looked beautiful.

She ran towards him, arms wide open, and he caught her easily, and swung her around.

When she was finally settled down, he gulped and opened his mouth to speak.

"Lil-" She nodded, knowing exactly what he was going to say.

"You're forgiven, Sev."

He sighed in relief, and finally let her go.

"I value our friendship too greatly to let it fall apart over a single word." She smiled again, and took his hand, and pulled him towards the bright glow she had come from.

"Come, Severus, we'll go together."

She turned to face the light, while pulling him from behind her. From a distance, he saw several figures, one tall with white hair and long, grey robes, another with a wolfish grin, holding the hand of a shorter figure, with long black hair, steading her, one with curly brown hair, and worn robes, and lastly, a man, who was standing a few steps in front of the others, with messy black hair and glasses, with clasped hands.

And Severus knew that he would be with her, as her protector, as her supporter, as her best friend.

Always.
