Ice

And that mask of ice you're wearing

Well, it chills you to the bone

And the words they said that day to you

Won't ever leave you alone

Can't they see beyond the ice

See what makes you stand aside

Can't they see that you don't fear death

Cause you've already died

In this are green and blue united

In this our fates entwine

We are cold, emotionless, silent

Pretending we are fine

But the mask of ice, it shatters

With every tear you shed inside

A lonely boy is sheltered there

Forced by the war to hide

We are all old beyond our years

Emotionally scarred, insane maybe

All we want is peace or death

One way or the other, to be free

Free of sickening bloodied duty

Free of senseless, pointless war

Free to vanish from all notice

And to never be seen anymore

Be no more asked how we did what we have

Questioned, accused, bitterly cursed

And yet in one and the same glance

Pitied, forgiven and absolved

But you don't want the pity

That makes you feel too weak

And intensifies the inadequacy

That's shouted with every word you don't speak

You want to escape, well fine with me

But I'll bet you don't know what I will do

Cause wherever you go, whenever, however

I'll be right alongside of you

AN: well... my first GW-related work... and it's a poem *goes cross eyed* ~not~ what I was expecting... eh, ne ways, really up to you if you want to infer a deeper-than-stated relationship between the two (the two, of course, being Trowa and Heero).  No real back-story to define who 'they' are, or what they said... not yet anyway ^_~  reviewing may well inspire one *hints* :p
