This is a rewritten version of my first fan fiction, Another Outsiders. That one was just completely horrible, and i decided to tone the tragedy down a bit, and rewrite it altogether. Soo.. I hope y'all like it! Please review and tell me whatcha think!
I do not own The Outsiders.
"You know what Two-Bit?" I said, kicking my feet upon the table and locking my fingers behind my head.
"What, Ponyboy?" he asked, handing me his beer, letting me take a sip, and yanking it back.
"I'm gonna ask Ariela to move in with us tonight," I said. Two-Bit lowered the volume of the TV.
"Move in?"
"Yep." Two-Bit climbed onto the couch from the floor and gave me a giant bear hug.
"Ponyboy's growing up! Our Ponyboy's grown' up!" Two-Bit hollered, shaking me around and laughing'.
"Thank you, sir, thank you. I'll see you tomorrow," Darry. Darry walked through the door and started jumping up and down.
"Guess who just got a promotion! This guy! That means more grilled cheese on you and Soda's plates!" Darry shouted. Two-Bit stopped roughhousin' me and had this cheeky grin plastered across his face.
"What, Two-Bit?" Darry asked.
"Tell him, Pone," Two-Bit said. I sighed.
"I wanted to ask Ariela to move in tonight," I said. Darry's eyes widened to the size of the moon.
"To move in? Ponyboy, I could barely feed the two of y'all, how am I supposed to feed three now?"
"Darry, she comes from a family of money. She can take care of herself," I said.
"Well, that's awfully inconvenient of us to make her pay to use utilities and to eat in this house," Darry said.
"Aw, come on, Darry, she'll pay rent. Her father will insist on paying rent," I said.
"I don't know, Ponyboy. I guess if you ask her tonight…Where could she possibly stay, Ponyboy?"
"I mean, if I ask Soda, do you think he'll sleep on the couch for tonight, and we could sleep-"
"Together? Now, you know how I feel about you and her sleepin' together," he said.
"Look, if you slept with Soda in-"
"She can sleep in my room tonight. I can sleep in the guest room tonight, and you and Soda can sleep as normally."
"Why can't she sleep in the guest room?"
"Because that room is a disaster. I'll say yes on one condition, Pone," Darry said.
"What?"
"Once I leave tomorrow, you clean that room so she can stay in there. Is that clear?" I nodded. Truth of the matter was that the guest room was our parent's bedroom, and we had put a lot of their belongings in the shed out back. So we called the room, the guest room. No one really knew about it. It was just another room.
Ariela has been my girlfriend for three years, since sophomore year. She dated Soda before he met Sandy, and when he found Sandy, she found me. And instead of the whole revenge mentality like "because you broke up with me, I'm going to date your brother" kind of thing, she actually started to hang out with me for the heck of it. She said she really didn't have an interest with me until she actually started to spend time with me. I asked her out a couple times, we went drag racin' once, and I asked her to go steady. And that was that. We've been together ever since. Of course, she and Soda had to make nice and get along, but over the years, they actually became really good friends. Which concerned me, considering how she and Sodapop dated for two years before me, and because Sandy left for Florida, Soda's been…. not on the top of his game, it gave me a little something to be scared about. But it was Sodapop, not Steve.
