A/N: Short, but something that's been circling around in my head for awhile…and I was bored. I don't know, I think it sucks, sort of.

Watching someone sleep could either be very relaxing or very awkward.

For example, if you'd been watching someone you loved sleeping and they woke up and stared at you with a "what the hell" look on their face and continued to demand what you thought you were doing, it could be very awkward. Saying "oh, I was just watching you sleep" could make you sound like a stalker. Trying to cover it up would be embarrassing and very rarely, if ever, worked.

On the other hand, if they didn't wake up, you could keep watching them forever. Watch the innocent expression on their face as they worked through their dreams, lips sometimes parted slightly, sometimes curved into a small smile. Watch the regular rise and fall of the chest. Watch their vulnerability, feel that feeling that had no words to assign to it.

Zelos didn't know how long he'd been sitting here, watching Lloyd like this. Every few minutes, he'd convince himself that he really should stop watching the boy sleep like this, as it was likely to turn extremely awkward very quickly. Still, he'd been telling himself the same thing for…had it been three hours, now? And he hadn't moved. It was mesmerizing, watching him sleep like that.

"Uhhhh." A shifting, and an opening of those eyes Zelos had grown to love. They blinked, and then Lloyd asked the expected question, bemused. "…Zelos? What are you doing?"

"Well, this is awkward," Zelos joked, trying to ease his way out of it the usual way. "Uhh…" Damn, he couldn't think of anything else to say. "Look, a spider! I was just…killing spiders. Yeah."

Lloyd shifted until he was sitting up, leaning on his elbows, looking amused as Zelos went to swat the imaginary spider. "Zelos," he said finally.

"Y…yeah?" Crap, he saw through that one. I should have expected that. Of course I should have expected it! This is Lloyd Irving, after all…no one can hide from him…ahh, dammit…

"Thanks."

Zelos froze, staring at the swordsman. "…uh?"

"For sitting there with me while was asleep. But you didn't have to, you know." There was that cute little grin again, the one that always made him melt. "Dork."

"I, uh…no problem, I guess…"

Zelos couldn't help but grin.

Lloyd was so weird.
