~Show No Signs Of Weakness~

"I can't stand to see her like this." he stuttered out in tears. "I'm terrified of her when she's like this, you have no idea..." he continued. "Her ghost white face. Her shallow breathing. I'm so scared."he finished.

She had no idea what to say to him. She hated to see him like this. He had a look of overwhelming fear on his face. His expression even put fear and worry into her heart. She sat queitly and patiently. She wanted to say something to comfort him, but she was at a lost for words.

That mid-winter's day seemed to be the coldest day of the year. Gray storm clouds hung heavy and low from moisture. There eyes stared out at the icy, crystal drops of rain. Luckily, the two teens had found an eating area at the park with covering. They decided to wait for the rain to lighten up before contiuing on home.

"You would think that I would be used to this..." he began. He pulled his burnt orange sweater on. "But each time it happens, I get even more scared. She's growing up...shouldn't she be stronger now?" he asked his friend. He looked up at her, she was sitting on the table while he sat on the bench. His face had a hint of red from crying and embarrassment. He didn't want her to see him like this. Nobody for that matter. Next to this, showing any signs of weakness to anyone, especially her, was his greatest fear. But there he was, on this miserable gloom of a day, doing what he feared most.

She listened attentively to him. The urge to mediate his suffering grew even stronger. But how? She had no idea what to say to him. "I love her so much. I couldn't stand to lose her. But she's so weak. I'm afriad that if i tried to help her I would kill her." he hung his head in utter shame. "It's my job to protect her, but I am a failure at it." he didn't look up anymore. It was too much of a bother. He had felt so defeated and useless. He could almost hear the shattering of his slowly breaking heart. She could see it. It was forged into his face, and it tainted his voice. It revealed its self in his eyes.

She looked at him. her heart writhed in pain for him. She couldn't bare not being able to say or do anything. So, she let her instincts take over. She reached her hand out to him. She lifted his head up and looked him in his eyes. His face was worn out from crying. Her face softened, she leaned over and kissed him gently on his forehead.

He looked up at her. His face had no emotion. He stared at her for a moment, and then wrapped his arms around her waist. He laid his head on her lap and closed his eyes. "Why is she always so sick?" he asked. Then he beganto cry silent tears.

She gently rubbed the side of his face with her hand. "I'm so useless." he whispered. She sighed a little. "You're stronger and more caring than you really know." she replied. He then, held her a little tighter. Tears lined his face. "Ssssh...", she began, "I love you Tai...I'll always be here for you, it will be alright in the end.". "I love you too Sora...and thank you." he replied. And they continued to watch the rain.

Author's Note: Well, I believe that is pretty good for a first timer. But I'll let you decide. Be honest with me...HONEST...not just plain brutal. I've read some of the reveiws before and you guys can be pretty harsh.
