This is a poem from Lucas's point of view. I posted it to ELF_fanfic@onelist.com right around Christmas and because a story had been posted with my original title, A Simple Request, I changed the title to A Christmas Wish List. If you read some of my non-seaQuest poetry, you can probably tell I originally wrote this from my point of view, not Lucas's. It just happened to fit. Enjoy the ELFing! (Originally posted as A Christmas Wish List but apparently it was taken down because of the title. Enjoy and let me know what you think.)

Disclaimer: I don't own seaQuest. Some company in California does.

Christmas Wishes

All I ask is for a hug.
A simple hug, where someone will hold me and whisper that it's all right and I'll be fine.
A strong hug, where someone will rub my back and lend me the strength I need to carry on.
A supportive hug, where someone won't let go until I'm ready to face the world that lies ahead of me.
A comforting hug, where someone will let my cry on their shoulder until I have no more tears left and not think any less of me.
A loving hug, where someone will help me feel like I belong to something, anything at all.
All I ask is for a hug.

All I ask is for some understanding.
Some simple understanding, where I don't have to explain my little personality quirks and justify my faults.
Some strong understanding, where someone will be willing to fight with me until the end once I explain.
Some supportive understanding, where someone is willing to stay by my side until I'm ready to handle things on my own.
Some comforting understanding, where someone knows what I have gone through and can give me advice.
Some loving understanding, where someone sees and shows me how to deal with my problems without thinking any less of me.
All I ask is for some understanding.

All I ask is for some acceptance.
Some simple acceptance, where people greet me without hesitation, moving to let me in without thought.
Some strong acceptance, where someone knows all of my faults and still stands up for me to others.
Some supportive acceptance, where someone is there to try and cheer me up when I'm down.
Some comforting acceptance, where someone will hold me and make me feel better for a time.
Some loving acceptance, where someone knows all of my faults and secrets and still accepts me the same.
All I ask is for some acceptance.

All I ask is for some love.
Some simple love, where there are no complications to muddy the waters of a relationship.
Some strong love, where no amount of strife can break the bonds between us.
Some supportive love, where someone would let me depend on them for a while, as opposed to the other way around.
Some comforting love, where someone's presence alone could calm me and help me relax my barriers.
Some love, where I can be totally at ease and have no worries as to what the next day will bring.
All I ask is for some love.

Is that too much to ask for?
