AN: OK, so I've posted loads today. I got the writing bug after finishing my lab report. A little one-shot. Enjoy.

It was late, past curfew, but Alicia Spinnet didn't care. She loved flying at night, and if that meant she had to risk being caught by one of the professors, then so be it. She used the time to think through things, work out any problems. And this was a major problem. For weeks now, she'd been fantasising about a certain Fred Weasley. She got so embarrassed whenever he was around, she couldn't even speak to him any more. And that was starting to make Quidditch practices awkward. So she'd come out here to think, and get over it.

She flew slowly down to her favourite spot by the lake, a hidden cave that not many students knew about. She'd got a hidden stash of chocolate and a muggle drink called Coca Cola there, and she was looking forward to indulging herself.

She landed just outside the cave, then crawled in. The opening was slightly too small to walk through normally. Casting Lumos, she glanced round. And nearly collapsed in shock at the sight of the red-headed boy sitting there, calmly eating her chocolate.

"Fred Weasley!"

"Hi, Alicia. I was waiting for you."

"So you decided to eat my chocolate while you waited?"

"Sorry about that. I couldn't work out how to open these, though." He waved a bright red Coke can.

"Give that here." Snapping it open, she drained half the can. She was glad the only light was her Lumos spell – she was sure she must be blushing fiercely.

"What did you want, anyway? And how did you know I'd be here tonight?"

"Because it's Valentine's Day, and Katie's off with George, and Angie's off with whoever she's with. I knew you'd be here because you come here often."

"That doesn't answer the first question."

"I wanted to give you this, but without all the others around." He held out a box. Alicia looked at it closely, then asked, "this isn't going to explode when I open it, is it?"

"No."

She opened it, carefully, and gasped when a gold necklace was revealed. The pendant was shaped like a rose, and was, of course, red.

"Turn it over."

Alicia did so. Engraved on the back was a heart with an arrow through it, and the letters FG and AS.

"Fred, thank you, it's beautiful."

She made her way across the cave and enveloped him in a hug. He picked the necklace out of the box and clasped it round her neck, while she held her hair out of the way.

"Love you, Alicia."

"Love you too, Fred."

She couldn't suppress a yawn, though. Well, it was late. Fred didn't seem surprised, and held her close as she settled down next to him.

"You know, we really ought to be getting back…" His voice trailed off as he realised she was already asleep. Deciding that was a good idea, he closed his eyes and drifted off as well. No-one would miss them 'til the morning. Rules be damned, Alicia was his, and they were staying here tonight.

AN: I'm a review junkie. Indulge me.
