A/N: hi guys... Finally! This is my first fanfic here. Please criticize.
disclaimer: I DO NOT OWN CODE GEASS.
He is a mortal that created a mask that bore the name of miracles and greatness; of power and authority. And yes, he is akin to everything synonymous to perfection, and everybody agrees with that.
But perfection is also a sin and he knew that well.
And so behold, the god made another mask within him; a mask that caged him from everybody else.
He continues to pretend he is the same as he was before, but he isn't. Now, he's just an empty shell.
Everything is different.
But she was there, sitting farthest away from him, emerald orbs locked at him. She smiles when he turns to her direction; a warm smile that exalts something that he was longing for so long. But he knew he could never enjoy what she was able to give him, so he never really tried to genuinely smile back. He knew things too well, and he never had the time.
But he was wrong.
His mask fell apart and he failed once again.
He was naïve.
His perfect shell is broken. There is nowhere he could hide now.
He is imperfect.
He is not a god.
In the end, behind all the miracles and greatness, there was nothing but lies and deception. He was fooling himself with his own lies. He didn't want to know the truth.
Because he is human and he became a monster.
Within the thick smell of blood and death in the gloomy station, he could still hear Shirley's voice: purer than anything and truer than anyone was to him; echoing silently, uttering a promise, that she will love him forever.
He screamed her name out loud.
He was scared, that someday, her promise will drown in his pit of lies.
