They're dancing over rooftops, waltzing through explosions, spinning through gunfire. In this moment, as their hearts beat as one and bodies slide together, they've forgotten why they're here and why they're enemies. The whole world's melted away. They wish secretly that they could stay this way forever, and then, their minds're lost, as are their souls in each other's eyes, they wonder why it can not.

Yet, as screams and yowls split the air, she remembers her babies, and he recalls the people who need him. They split apart, as they must, only to come back together again and again.
