~Chapter One~
"Please, please let this be the right one," the magician muttered to himself. He was trying to do a spell that would make a duel monster actually real, but the other two times he had tried it…he had turned a fox into a duel card (Silver warrior fox, Tuner monster, Lv. 3), and he had also turned a cat into a duel card (White warrior cat, Tuner monster, Lv. 3). "Let's just hope this one doesn't turn a person into a duel card…then I'd definitely get sued."
With the words he hoped were right, he uttered the spell. A light shot from his hands…but it missed the card, bounced off a mirror, and shot outside of his tent. There was a bright flash outside. "Crap!" he yelled.
When he ran outside, he saw a pair of twins staring at someone on the ground. It was a twelve-year-old boy, unconscious, and in oversized clothes. "Y-Yūsei!" the girl said.
The boy on the ground groaned, and opened his eyes. "W-Where am I?" he asked. He looked at the twins. "And, who are you?"
The other boy grabbed a cell phone from his pocket, rapidly dialed a number, and yelled, "Jack, Crow, and Akiza! WE'VE GOT A BIG PROBLEM! Get to the festival, ASAP!" into it. He then hit the off button, and began tapping his foot impatiently. I am going to stay out of this, thought the magician, slipping back into his tent, closing it, and putting a "Closed" sign on the outside.
When the three other Signers got to the area where Leo had directed them, they were surprised to not see Yūsei, but a twelve-year-old who looked a lot like Yūsei and wearing his clothes. He had a confused expression plastered on his face. "Who are you?" he asked.
"Y-Yūsei?" Crow said uncertainly.
"How do you know my name?" the boy asked.
Jack then noticed the magician's tent that innocently had the "Closed" sign on it. He tapped on the door. It opened slightly. "I'm sorry, but this facility is–"
"Do you have anything to do with this!" Jack interrupted.
The man was quiet. "Well…yes. Trust me, I can't undo it, unfortunately. At least he didn't end up like that fox or that cat. Here's what happened to them…"
He held up two cards, both Tuner Monsters. One was a silver fox, and the other was a white cat. Both were level 3. "I'm really sorry; I can't help. What I can do, however, is gift this card to the boy..." He gave the silver fox card to Yūsei. "...and as a present, give this to the lovely littel girl. He handed the white cat card to Luna. He then closed the door again.
Akiza then summed up the situation. "Well, this is bad."
