Soubi stood outside the window watching his sacrifice do his homework at his desk. It had been a little over three and a half years since he had met the angry, lonely, little boy. Since then, Ritsuka had grown out of his anger, still snapping at Soubi every now and then, and had grown up to be a very intelligent young man. Thinking back on their conversation the other day made Soubi smile.
Flashback
"Soubi?" Ritsuka asked, looking up from his book.
"Hmm?" Soubi replied from the floor, his usual spot in Ritsuka's room.
"Do you think that maybe…" Ritsuka paused for a moment.
Soubi looked up at this sacrifice and saw the boy blushing slightly, eyes averted to the floor.
"Maybe what Ritsuka?" Soubi asked, a little curious as to what the boy had on his mind.
"Maybe we could go somewhere this weekend, together?" Ritsuka finished.
"What did you have in mind?" Soubi asked.
"I don't know," Ritsuka replied in a meek voice.
Soubi wondered why the boy was being shy, not to mention he rarely ever wanted to go somewhere just the two of them. Then it clicked in his head.
"Ah, sorry Ritsuka. I'm afraid I have an assignment due Monday. I can't," Soubi replied.
"I-I see," Ritsuka said, ears drooping, with hurt in his voice.
Soubi got up and put on his coat, then made his way to the window. "I love you, Ritsuka," Soubi said, as he walked out.
His only reply was the quiet sobs of his sacrifice.
End Flashback
Even though he hurt his sacrifice, he did it for his own good. Soubi had everything set up for his plan. 'It's time,' Soubi thought. He lightly knocked on Ritsuka's window.
Ritsuka finished his homework and stood up to stretch, when he heard a faint knocking on his window. Ritsuka walked over and pulled back the curtain. When he saw Soubi's smiling face, his breath caught. It was the last person he wanted to see this day, especially since he had hurt him the other evening. Ritsuka opened the window and asked, "Why are you here?" "I haven't seen you in a few days, I wanted to check on you," Soubi replied, stepping into the room. 'Why did he come today, he said he was busy,' Ritsuka thought. "I'm fine. You can go now," Ritsuka replied a little coldly. Soubi grabbed the boy and pulled him into a hug. "Soubi, let go!" Ritsuka exclaimed, struggling a little. "I'm sorry Ritsuka," Soubi said, stopping the boy's struggles. The boy started to cry softly and whispered, "Why today?" Soubi lifted the boy's face and kissed him softly. Ritsuka's face was bright red, when he pulled away.
"Pervert," Ritsuka mumbled.
Soubi shrugged off the comment as usual and brought out a box from behind his back, with his other hand and said, "Happy 16th Birthday Ritsuka." The young man's eyes lit up and he said, "You remembered." Then he took the gift from Soubi and said, "I thought you had forgotten because of your art assignment." "Ah, sorry. I had to get things ready for our day, so I made up an excuse," Soubi replied. By that time, Ritsuka had opened the gift and pulled out a silver ring. The younger man blushed as he looked at the inside engraving: "I love you, Ritsuka."
Ritsuka put it on and hugged Soubi.
"Baka," Ritsuka said, smiling.
