Author's Notes: This is just a one-shot of Danny and Sam fluffies... (writing these helps me clear up writer's block =P)

------------

It was during a normal fight that it happened. Sam was waiting nearby, looking for ways she could help. Tucker was hacking into something, and Danny had just blasted the ghost with an eco-plasmic ray. Then it occurred to him: What other girl could compare to Sam?

His mind began going over a 'girl check list' he hadn't even been aware he had.

Does she make reference to my existence on the face of the earth? (Yep, that's how soon Paulina was out) Well, yeah. Duh. Sam's my best friend.

Does she accept everything about me, (within reason)? (There went Valerie…) Wow, yeah. Seriously Fenton, what other girl seems willing to accept someone who is technically half dead, and technically a freak? And a nerd at school?

Is she good looking?

Danny dodged a quick attack from the weakening ghost to peak over at Sam, who had found her own ghost to fight.

Definitely check.

Is she fun to be around? Danny's shy mind flashed back to a couple certain "fake-out make-outs" and then he shook his head, thinking of all the fun he had had with her and Tuck instead.

How did I never notice how darn pretty that girl is? Danny thought, catching the Fenton Thermos Tucker tossed him and sucked the ghost in. His fairly sharp mind directed his attention to Sam's ghost, and he felt his adrenalin kick in. "Tucker!" He called, motioning for his friend to follow him.

Bonus items: He thought, as the three quickly began to defeat the ghost. Strongly independent. Smart. Pretty. Capable of holding her own in a fight – wow. Sam was almost leading this fight with her Spector Deflector and various other gadgets. Pretty. Did I mention that already?

The ghosts now all in the thermos, Danny floated to his friends. They all high fived good naturedly, as Danny worked up some nerve.

"Sam?" He asked, waiting until violet met blue. Danny placed his hands on her shoulders gently, as he was still floating without legs and only a ghostly tail, and quite a bit off the ground.

"Hmm?" She replied, her eyes still dancing from the fight's excitement but now concealing a tiny bit of confusion.

"I need you." Danny said suddenly, feeling abrupt and out of sorts. "I mean – oh crud – I like you, Sam. I've never said anything before this about us, but now all I want to do is kiss you." The words began running together faster as he spoke.

"Kiss me?" Sam restated the question, unsure. "I – " As she spoke however, her lips were caught up in Danny's.

(You can bet Tucker was smirking. Took 'em long enough!)

They parted. Danny could never have imagined how soft herlips would be. For a moment they just stayed in place, Danny flosting up unconsciously, his arm around her shoulders and his other holding her hand. Sam buried her head in his jumpsuited chest.

She looked up happily, contentedly, at him. "I like you a lot, mister. You know that?"

Danny's grin widened. "I like you a lot too, Sam. His hand felt the back of her neck and tilted her head back. Slowly, tenderly, they kissed again.

Just then they heard the Spector Speeder horn beep. Together they looked up to Tucker. He called through the speaker system;

"Hey lovebirds, you guys ready to head home?"
