A small poem I wrote Christmas 2003. Never found anything to do with it until now though :)

---------------------

Twas the night before christmas and all about the house

nothing was stiring, not even a mouse

until suddenly from the roof was a rumble

somebody had taken a tumble

down the chimmney Lord Elrond came

All in gold, it was such a shame

that he was covered all in black

'Oh well, this is no time to slack'

He dust himself off and lifted his head

To see a young Took who was out of his bed

he stood by the fire with a vacant expression

so Elrond thought he might teach him a lesson

'Tonight Peregrin you shall come with me

for I have many many more hobbit holes left to see'

Elrond left a few presents for Merry and all

including a chair only twelve inches tall

Pippin stood still in amazment and shock

'Till he decided to follow wearing only one sock

Up on the roof he saw such a sight

Shadowfax, Brego, Hasufel and Asfaloth alight

'On Shadowfax, on Brego, on Hasufel and Asfaloth

for we still have to deliver many a fine cloth'

And with a start they all rose high in the air

young Pippin sat back, the wind in his hair

'where to next?' he asked ever so kindly

'Not a bloody clue' the elf replied blindly

And so they hit the last holes of the night

yet young Pippin try as he might

could not stay awake

as Elrond flew across the lake

back to Hobbiton and Perigrins bed

where Lord Elrond had bought him to rest his head

He took off that very same night

until the sled was far out of sight

yes christmas may now be over, finished and gone

yet in Pippins heart this tale lives on.
