Does anyone else notice that in season 3 of CI that as it gets closer to Alex leaving for having the baby, she starts wearing button down shirts that are too big for her even for maternity clothes? Well I did and I thought...hmmm, could those belong to our big teddy bear of a detective? Have fun reading....

Alex stretched. It was an hour before she had to be at work and she had just gotten out of the shower. She went to her closet and pulled on a pair of pants and looked for a shirt to wear. She tried on three different shirts before realizing that they wouldn't fit over her stomach. She groaned and felt like crying. She grabbed her phone and dialed the first number she thought of.

Bobby: Goren.
Alex: *in a whining voice* Bobby.
Bobby: What's wrong Alex?
Alex: None of my shirts fit.
Bobby: *fighting not to smile* What can I do?
Alex: Can you bring over a few of your shirts for me to wear until I can buy some bigger ones?
Bobby: Yeah I can do that. I'll be there in thirty.
Alex: Thank you Bobby.
Bobby: Youâ–“re welcome Alex.

Alex hung up the phone and pulled her bath robe on. She lay on her bed and waited for Bobby to show up. He had a spare key and could get in on his own without her moving.

Thirty minutes later, Bobby arrived at Alex's place. He went to knock on the door but thought better of it. He took out his key and slipped it into the lock. He opened the door and headed inside; knowing Alex would be in her room. He walked down the hall and knocked on Alex's bedroom door.

"Come in." Alex called from inside.

Bobby pushed the door open and took in the sight of Alex lying on her bed. She had her bathrobe still on but Bobby could see the bottoms of her pants sticking out.

"Hey you," Bobby said, holding up a bag. "I brought the shirts."

Alex sat up and looked at Bobby. He saw tear tracks on her face and sat next to her.

"What's wrong?" Bobby asked.

"I don't like not fitting in my clothes." Alex whined. "and I don't like crying over stupid things like not fitting in my clothes."

Bobby repressed another smile and wrapped his arm around Alex's shoulders. She rested her head on Bobby's chest and sighed.

"I'm acting like a three year old." Alex said.

"No you're acting like a woman who's four months pregnant." Bobby said, stroking Alex's hair. (Not sure when she started showing but I put it at about four months.)

"I hate this." Alex said. "I mean I love what I'm doing for my sister but I want to fit in my own clothes."

Bobby smiled and kissed Alex on the head. "Come on, we have to get to work. We'll go buy you some new shirts during lunch. I'm sure Deakins will understand."

Alex smiled and looked up at Bobby. "Thank you."

Bobby nodded. He stood up then pulled Alex up off the bed.

"I'll go wait in the living room while you get dressed." Bobby said.

Alex nodded and watched Bobby leave. Then she looked down at his bag of shirts.

'Maybe being pregnant isn't so bad after all.' Alex thought before pulling out one of the shirts.
