A/N: This is only my 3rd story on fanfiction, but it is my first completed one. I hope you like it! Please R&R, but no flames. Thanks! Oh, yeah, this is more of a myth, than a story.

Erpolog's Possum

Once there was a widow of the name Erpolog. He lived

near the sea. Erpolog was a poor man and he didn't have

a job. One person took pity on him. His name was Larlore

and he was a God.

One day Larlore walked down to the beach to meet

Erpolog. Erpolog was very kind to him and offered him

some food. Larlore knew that Erpolog was poor and

refused his request. Instead Larlore gave Erpolog one wish.

Erpolog didn't believe this wish would come true but still told

Larlore that his greatest desire was to fall in love.

The next day a beautiful woman came down to the beach.

He saw her and knew that Larlore had given him his wish.

He walked up to the woman and asked her if she needed

something. She said that she was lost and wondered if he

knew where they were. Erpolog told her that they were in

Calersto, England. The woman didn't know where that was

but said thank you. When she turned to leave Erpolog

asked her what her name was. She said that her name was

Arperlor and asked what his name was. "Erpolog" he

answered. "I live here on the beach. Arperlor smiled and

asked if he could show her around.

First he brought her into the forest where some of his

favorite animals were. He showed her some of his favorite

spots and not until he showed her his favorite cave did they

find any animals. A possum crawled out from an indention

in the cave. The possun was dragging his right front leg.

"Oh no! Is he hurt?" asked Arperlor.

" Yes, he must be" Erpolog answered while bending down

to get a better look at his leg.

"It must've been in a fight" he said looking up. "I don't know

what animals were in it though". Arperlor looked worried and

they decided to take it back to Erpolog's house. Right

before they got out of the forest they saw a hunter enter it.

"Are you looking for something?" Erpolog asked.

"I shot a possum earlier and I can't find it" the hunter told

them.

" Is it this possum?" Arperlor asked while waving toward

the possum that Erpolog was holding.

"Oh, thank you for finding it for me" the hunter answered

while stepping forward with his hands out. Erpolog took a

step backward and told the hunter that he'd never give him

the possum. The hunter said that if Erpolog didn't give him

the possun he'd have to throw an arrow. When Erpolog

didn't give him the possum the hunter threw the arrow.

Erpolog died then and there. Arperlor weeped and weeped.

For some reason the possum stayed alive. Some people

say that the God's cured him because they knew that it

would make Erpolog happy. Others just say that it was a

miracle. After the possum died (which wasn't for a while) it

was sent up to the sky to be a constellation to represent

Erpolog, the poor man who died for a possum.
