A/N: Been a while since I contributed to this fandom.
Reviewing my twelve days:
On the fourth day of shipmas, the author wrote to me,
Some Jaya fluff,
Cute negaishipping
Fluttercord forever
And the greatest ship, Rupphire's OTP!
I don't own Ninjago, but I do own the right to ship Jaya! And yes, I had to hint at Rupphire, for those of you who can can catch that.
Jay looked at the little gift in his hands and sighed. Come on, he thought. You can do this! Just hand it to her when she wakes up and ask her, simple as that! Yet the more he thought about it, the more nervous he became.
He looked out the window; the sun was beginning to peek over the horizon. He took a glimpse of his present once more before leaving his room and heading towards the bright evergreen tree. Surprisingly, the dark-haired girl was already sitting by it.
"Nya!" Jay exclaimed softly, as not to wake up the others.
Upon hearing her name, she turned around and gave a small smile. "Hey, Jay," she greeted him.
Jay snickered, since it rhymed; though he was a grown man- really more of a young adult- he was quite immature.
He cleared his throat. "I-I have something for you," he said, giving her the little wrapped box.
"Aww... That's so sweet!" She took it and ever so carefully undid the golden ribbon and red wrapping paper, revealing a white box. She lifted the lid and gasped with joy. "It's beautiful!" she cried, taking out a silver necklace with a half heart charm made from a ruby. It had a little water drop etched into it.
She averted her gaze to Jay, and gasped when she saw him putting on the other half. His necklace had a half heart made from a sapphire with a little lightning bolt carved into it. Jay smiled.
"I know that jewelry's not your thing," Jay told her, "but I saw the two gems creating a heart, and I kind of thought of us." His face glowed a shade of pink, staring at the white box.
Nya grinned. "Well, jewelry may not be my thing, but you definitely are!"
Jay didn't look away from the box. Nya frowned. "What?" she asked, then looked inside. She stuck her hand in and brought out a folded piece of paper.
"I know our last few dates disn't go as planned," it read, "but wanna dash with me through the snow in a one-horse open sleigh?"
Nya looked up and nodded. Jay retrieved their coats, and as they headed out the door, someone behind them cleared their throat. The lovebirds spun around and spotted Kai standing there, still in his pajamas, crossing his arms and tapping his foot. "And where do you think you're going?" he asked them.
Jay gulped.
Kai stood there waiting.
"W-we're going on a date. Th-that's okay with you, right?"
Kai stopped stamping his foot. "Come here, Jay."
Jay's stomach dropped; he knew where this was heading. When he was fifteen, he dated his best friend's little sister. He lost half a tooth and his best friend one week later.
He slowly walked up to the Ninja of Fire, feeling small as he imagined his fiery rage. "Y-yes?" he nervously said.
Kai stared at him with deadly daggers, Jay was afraid he would die! Then, his expression softened, and he winked, placing his hands on his hips. "Have fun on your date!"
Jay sighed with relief. "Oh, thank you, Kai," he breathed.
"Just don't hurt her, you got me?"
Jay saluted. "Sir, yes sir!"
Kai smiled and nodded as the two stepped outside in the snow. "I know he'll be good for you, little sis," he murmured before heading to the kitchen for some hot cocoa.
