"Let Me Get What I Want"-The Smiths

Summary: Kurt knows his love is futile, but for once in could he get wants he wants? One-sided Kurt/Finn.

A/N: I was listening to my iPod when this began playing. Instantly, my brain went into hyper speed and started yelling "Write, you slave! Write before you forget!" So I listened to the little voices in my head and wrote this.

Disclaimer: Glee and the cast are not owned by me. Neither are the Smiths.

For all that everyone believed Kurt only knew show tunes and Lady Gaga, he did enjoy listening to other music. There were some messages that could not be answered by just a few genres of music.

So he lied on his bed hearing the lyrics tell his life story.

"Good times for a change,

See the luck I had,

Can make a good man

Turn bad."

Kurt had been having a pretty good time since Glee club—less dumpster dives, he will admit. But he does agree with the song; he has terrible luck.

Why did he have to fall for one of the straightest boys in school?

"So please please please

Let me, let me, let me,

Let me get what I want

This time."

But he knows it's for naught—no matter how badly he wants Finn, he won't get him. But he can hope. He's been good, why can't he get what he wants?

"Haven't had a dream in a long time

See the life I've had

Can turn a good man bad."

He has to disagree with the dream part—he certainly has enough of those, whether it is to have Finn love him or just to get out of Lima for good. He has something to live for.

"So for once in my life,

Let me get what I want.

Lord knows it would be the first time

Lord knows it would be the first time"

But as he heard the last strums of the guitar, he knew he could feel moisture in his eyes welling up. For once in his life, could he just get what he wants? Lord knows it would be the first time.
