"There is a Light That Never Goes Out"- The Smiths
Summary: The perfect song for a terrible situation. Finn thoughts during the Theatricality episode.
A/N: I had the thought about Finn after Theatricality, about what he did that night after getting kicked out. And this is the result.
Disclaimer: Glee, and the characters within the show are not my own, I merely try to get into their heads to better understand them. Neither do I own The Smiths, just a few select songs.
Finn hit his head against the steering wheel of his car as he muttered under his breath, "So stupid, why did I say that?" He his head again for good measure—there were no brain cells to lose, right?
How could he have said that to Kurt? He thought he was better than that—Kurt and his dad thought him better than that too. Why was he spouting out trash against the one friend that helped him through his baby problems? He felt like a complete idiot and a scumbag.
Finn let out a sigh and muttered to himself, "Walk it out, Hudson. Take a drive." He turned on the car and the radio started off.
"Driving in your car
Oh, please don't drop me home
Because it's not my home, it's their home
And I'm welcome no more…"
"Why does the worst possible song always start playing?" growled Finn as he flicked off the radio.
But it was true—he wasn't welcome anymore because of his terrible behavior. He had been frustrated, overwhelmed by the now obvious devotion Kurt felt for him. But what was he supposed to do? He didn't like guys, even if Kurt was a lot like a girl. At this point, Finn was about ready to give up on people in general for what's happened so far.
But he knew what he had said about Kurt was wrong. He had to make it better somehow. This was not just to have a home again, but to make Kurt happy. He did not want to be the person to cause Kurt to cry—far from it, he wanted to make him laugh, be friends again.
As he stared through the window of his car, he was hit with an idea. They were doing Gaga, right?
"It's worth a shot," Finn said thoughtfully.
Because giving up his dignity to get Kurt's friendship again would be worth it.
Please comment, for good or for bad. I welcome all critiques. :]
