A/N: This is my first fanfic, called The Legend of Zelda: Revolution of Darkness. This story starts off two months after The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

It isn't your ordinary save-the-princess, save-the-world gag; in fact, I doubt that the hero will be spending too much time saving princesses. Also, I'll make several references to other video game universes and if they're not pointed out in the text itself, then I'll note them.

Here goes nothing.

(Telma's Bar, near closing time)

"It's not fair." Jovani sighed as he stared gloomily into his foamy glass of beer. He then peered up at the grandmother-like Gerudo barkeeper.

The woman, Telma, said to the forlorn beanstalk of a man, "it's been over two months since she left you." "I'd recommend for you to put it behind you and try to brave the waters again."

"I know, but I just feel swindled and it's entirely my fault. If I hadn't of sold my soul to that…phantom, I would've still had her love," Jovani moaned.

"I have an idea," Telma said with a twinkle in her eye. "Tomorrow, after closing time, I'll help you get back on your feet and into the dating world." Smiling, the barkeeper said, "You go home and get a good night's sleep."

(Central Caste Town, dusk)

As Jovani walked home, he heard somebody say "sir, could you help me?"

Jovani peered up to see a pale, old man in huge glasses and a lab coat sitting at one of the tables of the outdoor restaurant. The weary Jovani shuffled over to the table. Muttering "yeah," the slightly drunk Hylian plopped down in the chair next to the old man. "What do you need?"

"Before I start rambling, my name is Professor Elvin Gadd; I'm an inventor from the Mushroom Kingdom. I came to Hyrule to research a species of ghost called a "Poe." "You see, I'm also a parapsychologist as well as an inventor."

At the word "Poe," Jovani perked up. "Did you just say 'Poe'" he asked.

Professor E. Gadd replied "Yes. Why? Do you have a beef with Poes?"

Jovani then told E. Gadd how the Poes swindled him out of his true love.

"According to my research, the leader of the Poes rests in an ancient sword deep inside a decommissioned prison. I believe its name is "Arbiter's Grounds."
